The Guardian| Fake Reviews on TripAdvisor become Target of a Twitter Campaign

The Guardian: Twitter campaign takes aim at fake restaurant reviews on TripAdvisor.

This article is about false reviews on TripAdvisor about restaurants.

It is completely wrong to give fake reviews. I hope TripAdvisor figures out a way to create a verification system that will prevent these statements by people who may not have even

visited the restaurant or simply exaggerate a bad experience.

Good restaurants shouldn’t have to go through this, but it is the disadvantage of our cyber connected world. Nowadays a majority of people will go to restaurant that has more stars or more “the food was great,” comments.

It is sad and even I have done that, but now that this has been brought to my attention I will not judge an eatery before visiting the place myself.

And Twitter should be used by more people for these purposes, to fight against injustice and spread the word in less letters 🙂

Please do read the entire article to get your own perspective on this matter.
